Sophie Strawbridge obtained a degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Bath in England, where she also developed her coding skills. This led to two professional positions: a Systems Analyst at Redington and a Software Engineer at the international consultancy firm Thoughtworks. This was where she was introduced to machine learning, leading her to pursue a Master’s in AI at Queen Mary University of London, specializing in Computer Vision. She is currently pursuing a PhD in the Nanoscale bioelectrical characterization Group at IBEC led by Gabriel Gomila. Her research is part of the SPM4.0 project, where she will apply her expertise in machine learning and computer vision to the field of scanning probe microscopy.
