DC 9: Navdeep C. (IFJ PAN)

Navdeep obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences from University of Delhi, India, followed by a Master’s degree in Physics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India and then went to pursue a Master of Technology degree with more experimental exposure in Applied Optics from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. His master’s thesis was focused on Raman spectroscopy and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) to enhance molecular signals for biomedical applications. Through this work, he has developed a strong interest in extracting quantitative physical information from biological systems using light matter interactions. Motivated by the need to complement molecular level spectroscopic insights with functional and mechanical characterization, he has joined Prof. Malgorzata Lekka’s group for his PhD through SPM 4.0 project. His thesis will be focused on the mechanobiology of prostate cancer, employing atomic force microscopy (AFM) and rheological approaches to probe biomechanical alterations at the cellular and tissue levels.
