DC 15: Jiacheng Huang (UGOT)

Jiacheng Huang obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Ocean University of China, and his Master’s degree in Material and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University, China. He developed data mining algorithms based on stochastic theory and machine learning for Scanning Tunnelling Microscope Break-Junction (STM-BJ), which enabled the discovery of a new catalytic mechanism of formate dehydrogenase that is different from the generally accepted Theorell–Chance mechanism. He also served as the team leader, advisor, and instructor of the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition at team OUC-China and XMU-China since 2018, overseeing the dry lab component. Jiacheng is currently working as a Marie Curie PhD fellow at Dr. Giovanni Volpe’s Soft Matter Lab at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in artificial intelligence algorithms for Scanning Probe Microscopy data analysis, where he will employ his background in applied mathematics and synthetic Biology.
